Our mission is to increase the representation of people with learning disabilities in theatre, film and TV.
What we do
We promote, develop and encourage high quality new work for general audiences with integrated casts for general audiences. We bring together the best non disabled and learning disabled theatre making talent.
What we believe
We believe that the best theatre is made by diverse groups of people working together. We know that all kinds of people can be part of an excellent theatre experience, at the same time and in the same space.
We work with our artistic allies across the UK to increase the representation of learning disabled people in stories, new narratives and in adaptations on stage. We use the Silent Approach, a rehearsal room method which means an ensemble can work together without relying on speech to collaborate.
We host masterclasses, industry forums and publish reports.
We consult and offer some of the best expertise in cutting edge inclusive theatre practice in the UK.
We share our approach with playwrights, directors, actors, drama schools, casting directors, venues and producers across the UK and beyond.
We bring very different people together to celebrate difference and the diversity of the human condition.
We’re delighted to be supported by English Touring Theatre’s Forge initiative and Arts Council England.
We’re members of the ITC.
